Editing share settings
You can modify the settings of a share, such as the symbolic link settings and share access permissions of users or groups and the type of access to the share. You can also enable or disable continuous availability of a share over Hyper-V.
Before you begin
You must have the CIFS license installed.
About this task
You can enable continuous availability of a share over Hyper-V to permit SMB 3.0 and later clients that support it to open files persistently during non-disruptive operations. Files opened this way are protected from disruptive events, such as failover, giveback, and LIF migration.
Steps
1.
From the home page, double-click the appropriate storage system.
2.
Expand the Storage Virtual Machines hierarchy in the left navigation pane.
3.
In the navigation pane, select the Storage Virtual Machine (SVM), and click Storage > Shares.
4.
Select the share you want to modify from the share list and click Edit.
5.
Modify the share settings as required.
6.
Click Save and Close to save your changes and close the dialog box.
Result
The changes you made to the selected share are displayed in the Shares window.
